AS220 Exhibit – Jan. 5 – 26, 2013

I’m starting off 2013 with an exhibit at AS220 in Providence, Rhode Island. It’s a new body of work for me and touches on REVEALED and several other projects I have explored the past few years. The primary exhibit is based around my Blocked Chakra series I recently completed.

I have also set aside space with journal entries that shares the “behind-the-scenes” thought and emotional process of creating these projects. This includes my original journal entries that explored what turned into REVEALED. It’s a very personal exhibit. The artist statement:

Exploring the inner depth of self – mine and yours

Over the course of several years, I’ve taken a journey within – helping me discover more of who I am personally and creatively. I’ve created several projects exploring the depths of the inner self, both mine and yours. As these projects were created, I realized I could capture and project emotion and spirituality through photography. This process changed who I am, and along the way, changed my subjects and others as well. This series of creative photography displays the depth and breadth of our own spirituality, emotional journey, and along with the paradoxical truth that we are all connected.

The exhibit is at the Main Gallery for AS220 at 115 Empire St, Providence, RI. This is a joint exhibit with artis John Jacobson.

Exhibit is from January. 5-26th, 2013.
Reception is Saturday, Jan. 5th, 5-7pm
Artist talk is Thursday Jan. 24th @ 5:30pm and will include the screening of myREVEALED:Portraits from Beneath One’s Surface film after the talk.

Announcing the 43rd Pecha Kucha Night in Providence! This month we will be in the new SPOT PROVIDENCE (opening on the 10/9/2012 at 101 Richmond Street – 2nd Floor – PVD)!!!

As always, admission is FREE!!!

If you haven’t heard of this global yet unpronounceable phenomenon, Pecha Kucha is a monthly format for sharing ideas, in which presenters are allotted 20 slides and 20 seconds per slide. Put simply: 6 minutes and 40 seconds of adult-style show & tell. It began in Tokyo in 2003, has since spread to over 463 cities worldwide, and first landed in Providence in March of 09.

***Doors open at 7:20, presentations start at 8:20, and shmoozing goes down throughout.***

REVEALED, an interview with Scott Indermaur! by SpiritMessages

What would you put in your box? This is the big question that you will ask yourself as you explore the REVEALED Project!

The REVEALED project was created by professional photographer, Scott Indermaur. It began with the idea of presenting his subjects with a simple wooden box, and asking them to place items inside the box that represented their spiritual experience. He then would take a portrait of each subject with their box.

On the surface it appears to be a simple idea, but with each person Scott photographed, he began to see much more than the items they put inside their box.

In Scott’s own words: “What I find to be most interesting is the profound effect this project has had on so many of my subjects. Given the opportunity to look within, many experienced a journey that took them much deeper than their initial inner self-examination, which revealed undiscovered truths about themselves.”

All Friends Cabaret REVEALED TV Interview
